Kelly Higley

Counselling for Children, Young People and Young Adults

Kelly is an Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor. She completed her counselling training at Terapia (Middlesex University) and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Counselling (2019).

Kelly is passionate about combining therapeutic approaches with creative activities such as art and music, to explore difficulties young people may be facing. This could be using art activities to express emotions that are difficult to put into words or exploring song lyrics that evoke powerful feelings. Sessions are an opportunity to create a safe, confidential and engaging space where young people feel confident to explore challenges in a way that suits their needs.

Kelly draws on extensive professional experience of working with children, young people and young adults in a variety of counselling and leadership roles. With over 18 years’ experience within Charity, Local Authority and Higher Education sectors, her career has been shaped by empowering young people and families to achieve their potential regardless of their circumstances.

Kelly’s experience includes working within primary and secondary schools as a counsellor, working in specialist family support services and as a therapeutic practitioner for young parents. Kelly has held several leadership roles including within Youth Justice and Exploitation Services, Children’s Charities and University Counselling and Mental Health Services.

Kelly is a member of BACP and adheres to the BACP ethical framework. She has an up-to-date DBS check and has undertaken extensive Safeguarding training for both children and vulnerable adults.
