Mummy MOT

Did you know that in France post-natal care includes a prescription for physical therapy to strengthen a woman’s pelvic floor muscle?  The French know how important this is for a woman, but this is sadly not the case in the UK.  Many women suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction after childbirth.  This can lead to incontinence, leaking and pelvic pain to name but a few.

Enter Eve.

Eve is our in-house Women’s Health Physiotherapist and she offers a Mummy MOT – the postnatal check you need to help your body recover in the correct way.

The postnatal check involves an assessment of:

-        Pelvic floor

-        Tummy muscles and core

-        Functional movement and strength screen

-        Postural changes

-        Breathing

-        Any scarring

After the assessment you can expect to receive your bespoke report, advice and access to your personalised exercise and rehabilitation plan.

But why is this important?

Well – if like many of us you happily bounded on to the trampoline with the kids post-birth and found your bladder no longer played ball, or an innocent sneeze resulted in some unwanted leakage then this could be for you.

It doesn’t matter when you gave birth, if you suffer from any of the following then an appointment with Eve could really help:

-        Leaking or incontinence of bladder or bowels

-        Pelvic floor pain, dragging or heaviness

-        Feeling or seeing a bulge in pelvic floor

-        Pelvic or lower back pain

-        Gap in your tummy or pendular abdomen

-        Unable to exercise as before

Eve is passionate about helping to restore pelvic floor and core function, enabling you to go about your business without fear of pain or unpleasantness.  With just a few simple exercises you could be back to being as active as you want to be – to the trampoline park you shall go.
