Let’s Hear It For The Girl

International Women’s Day on the 8th March 2022 is a celebration of all things woman.  Designed to inspire and raise awareness, this day highlights the many achievements of women across the globe.  As we move through 2022, women are striving for equality in all areas of life and are making a real difference socially, economically and creatively.  Aiming to remove discrimination and bias towards women, International Women’s Day is the time to find out more and spread the word.

Here at Yellow Door Therapies, this day brings to the forefront how important women’s health is to our therapists and why we started the collective initially.  Early conversations between our founder Chloe and other like-minded therapists suggested there was room in Ashburton for a women’s health wellness centre – the initial idea being to bring together a range of holistic therapies, in a safe and comfortable space, to treat issues specific to women.  This was the first seed in the Yellow Door journey, which then evolved to incorporate family and men’s health as our group of therapists grew.

So why are we so passionate about women’s health?  A woman’s body goes through a number of changes throughout the lifecycle and the side effects of these changes are often treated with medication via generic medical routes.  We understand that a holistic approach to supporting the body can be extremely effective, and gentler therapies can be known to be more successful and relieve symptoms for longer periods of time.

All of the therapies offered at Yellow Door can be used to help women through their journey, and we believe that a positive and empowering approach to women’s health and wellbeing, at all stages of life, serves to support and nourish their families and the wider community around them too.  From antenatal to birth to postnatal, and from peri-menopausal to menopausal, we have years of experience working with women to guide them through these life-changing moments.  A holistic approach to both the physical and mental issues women come across helps the body to adjust, relieve stress and adapt to each stage comfortably.

So join us today to celebrate women, inspire the next generation and support access to women’s healthcare for all.

Our collective of therapists at Yellow Door are extremely experienced in a range of therapies including osteopathy, massage, counselling, acupuncture, physiotherapy, nutritional therapy and cranial sacral therapy.  Take time to read through our profiles and get in touch to see how we can help.
